An improved Vates type collard with large, blue-green leaves on short stems. Champion has excellent tolerance to both warm and cold temperatures, making it a four-season standby in many regions. Productive plants grow 60-90cm (24-36″) tall. Thick, waxy leaves are less prone to insect damage than other brassicas so floated row cover is not required to protect plants.
