Unusual, evergreen shrub, to 6 ft tall x 3 ft wide, with dark green foliage tending toward maroon. Odd flowers are little white bubbles sitting in the leaf centers, appearing in spring and, occasionally again in fall. Best in at least light shade and well-drained soil with regular summer water. A colorful addition to the woodland garden. Frost hardiness expected to extend to USDA zone 7.
