For direct sowing, start 2 weeks after last frost date when the soil is completely warm. Sow seeds 2.5cm (1in) deep and 60cm (24in) apart in hills spaced 2.4m (8ft) apart. Plant 4-6 seeds per hill and then thin to 3 plants per hill after germination.
Harvesting Instructions:
Harvest after vine dies or rind hardens and dulls in colour. Gather before frost, leaving part of the stem attached to the fruit. Fruit will keep for several months in a cool, dry location.
