Mitsuba Oriental Greens

Also known as Japanese parsley. Delightful herb with a clean fresh flavour reminiscent of celery and parsley. Leaves, roots and stems are used raw or cooked. The young leaves are a tasty addition to salad & soup. Mitsuba is a hardy perennial that is grown as an annual food crop. Harvest when stems are 15-20 cm (6-8″) tall.

How to Grow

300 seed/gram. Sow seed in a moist, moderately shaded area in successive crops every 4 weeks from late April through to mid-July. Sow seed 1.25 cm (1/2″) deep and 2.5-5 cm (1-2″) apart in the row with rows 45 cm (18″) apart. Thin to 5-10 cm (2-4″) apart in the row. Some shade is particularly important during hot summer weather. Harvest stems when they reach 15-20 cm (6-8″) in height.
