Echinops Ritrosubsp.Ruthenicus
The bright steel blue round flowers have given the common name to this plant of Globe Thistle. It is a very valuable butterfly plant, extremely drought tolerant and blossoms all summer with very little care. Native to Europe and Asia. The large toothy prickly leaves are green and grey underneath. It is deer resistant and the average height is 3 to 4 feet. A good plant for marginal areas of poor soil and is cold tolerant. This seed needs a cold period to break its dormancy. Plant in the fall directly to the garden or start in pots in winter that can be placed in a cold frame or unheated greenhouse. Cover lightly with soil.
Approximately 25-30 Seeds per Pack
