Mahonia aquifolium

This yellow-flowered native shrub with holly-like foliage generally grows up to 5ft tall in the garden. Flourishes in sun or shade and drought tolerant. The purple-blue berries are tart and sweeter after frost. Can be used in baking, jellies or wine. Well known for their antiseptic qualities.
