Gardener’s Notes: In early spring, when frost danger is over, plant in fertile, well-drained soil in a sunny spot. Sow seeds 1/2 inch deep and 2 inch apart, and firm soil well over seeds. When seedlings emerge, carefully thin each cluster, leaving individual seedlings 4 inches apart so roots have room to size up. Keep well watered for best flavor. Make several sowings 2-3 weeks apart for continual supply. Plant again at midsummer for a fall crop.
