One of the numerous members of the agave clan. This one having softer leaves and much more upright red flower stems that produce red and green flowers for happy hummingbirds. A plant we would put in the “fancy” category. Growing to about 3ft and slowly offsetting. Each leaf-center is striped light yellow. Very good contender for the garden or container. Excellent in a slightly damper and shadier situation than many agave relatives would enjoy, though full sun is ok too. Hardy to about 20F perhaps a bit lower if mulched. USDA zone 8b-9a
