As the name suggests, indeed a Japanese Painted Fern of epic proportions. Grows to an impressive 3ft tall by 5-6ft wide when mature. This handsome selection features silvery fronds accented by deep purple centers. Foliage contrast deepens with maturity and a bit of sun exposure. Prefers cool coastal areas or shaded moist sites in the interior. Excellent container plants to contrast with other strong foliage plants. Hardy to USDA zone 4.
